Ashwagandha is a root herb with adaptogenic properties that relax the nervous system and help the body cope with stress. In Ayurveda, warm whole milk is used as a remedy for insomnia, but if you prefer to avoid dairy, hemp or almond milk are the next best options. Likewise, ghee can be substituted for coconut oil.
